From Riley Adams Stops Time

The next afternoon, there was a knock on Riley’s office door. Jane was out getting lunch so Riley got up to open it and found Nick Wells on the other side. He looked a little disheveled from his travel and carried a large metal sided briefcase.

“Adams,” he said with a curt nod.

“Wells,” Riley replied. “Can’t say I’m particularly happy to see you but under the circumstances, I’m glad you made it.”

“Thanks, I think.”

Wells followed her into the office and set the briefcase down on the desk. “How about we get this over with so we can go back to never seeing each other?”

“Fine by me.”
