From Riley Adams vs the 1950s
Riley still looked confused but Artemis was catching on. “I think I’ve got it. If they cast the spell here in the office, the office would look like it did in say, 1955, all the modern technology would be gone, and we’d all be standing here in poodle skirts thinking vampires were agents of the USSR?”
“Bingo!” Carol said. “You’ve got the idea-I’m sorry, I don’t think I caught your name.”
“Artemis. Artemis Bly. I’m kind of new.”
“Right. You’ve got the idea, Artemis.” Carol had worked with Riley long enough to know that if Riley trusted someone, they were probably a good person. “Think of it like a photo filter for real life.”
Artemis looked over at AJ who gave her a big smile. “I knew we kept you around for a reason, Marty.”
Artemis raised her eyebrows. “Just for that?” She kept a straight face but there was a smile in her eyes.
AJ’s smile turned into a lopsided grin. “Oh, I could probably think of a few more reasons…” She punctuated the comment with a wink.
“ANYWAY,” Riley interjected, rolling her eyes like she always did when AJ and Artemis started flirting. It wasn’t that she was against it, quite the opposite, she still couldn’t believe neither of them had managed to do anything about their very obvious mutual feelings. “This witch cult is planning to cast this spell somewhere in H City?”
“If by somewhere in H City you mean over all of H City then yes,” Carol said.
“Fantastic,” Riley grumbled.
